Plymouth College of Art is widely regarded as a dynamic, innovative community of creative learning and practice in arts, media, design and communication: one of a small number of university sector independent art schools remaining in the UK. Nationally and internationally recognised for innovation across the continuum of creative education and for its ethical commitment to creative learning [through pedagogical innovation] and social justice [through community impact and social mobility]. PCA continues to foster international partnerships, developing a vibrant culture of scholarship and research.

Forward thinking, PCA is a creative community working across the fields of contemporary art, craft, design and media, with a focus on inquiry-led practice and integrated learning. The College puts the student at the centre, and is committed to interdisciplinary dialogue and open resources, providing an exciting context for collaboration, network building, and professional opportunities.

BA (Hons) Fashion Communication at Plymouth College of Art is a dynamic and growing subject area having a strong national identity within an international context. Housed in spacious open plan studios at our Tavistock Place campus, our Fashion Communication students have access to industry standard media equipment and specialist technical advice via our Media Lab. Our well stocked specialist library has access to marketing and trend information and study trips are organised taking students to international fashion events and business facing seminars.

The programme is focused upon innovative campaigns and promotions with high graduate employment and expanding international links.

If you have a strong background in fashion communication, are up to date with current fashion issues, trends and styles in relation to a range of markets and a particular specialism in digital capabilities we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of Adobe software will be an advantage. A commitment to professionalism and integrity in higher education is essential along with previous HE teaching experience plus a formal teaching qualification.

The role will ensure the highest standards of learning and teaching, research and scholarship, knowledge transfer, and student experience in line with the ambitions of the School of Design + Communication, and in support of PCA’s strategic plan. The post holder will be active in their field contributing to Plymouth College of Art’s emerging research culture.
