We are seeking to appoint a professional, experienced, self-motivated and pro-active college counsellor, to deliver therapeutic counselling sessions and engage with our most vulnerable students.  You will also contribute towards the HCUC Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, raise awareness of mental health across the college, work with relevant agencies and support the development of a proposed trainee counselling service with placements within the College. This will include providing supervision for the trainees.

You will hold BACP Accreditation, UKCP Registration, or equivalent registration with HPC/ BABCP/ BPS/ BPC as a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist/ Counselling Psychologist.  In addition, you will be suitably experienced to provide supervision to trainee counsellors.  You will have experience of counselling young people (16 – 25 year olds) and of supporting their mental health, making referrals when needed, and will be able to work effectively with internal and external partners.  Together with excellent communication and listening skills, you will be empathetic and able to remain calm in pressurised situations.  The role will involve travelling between College campuses, at Harrow on-the-Hill, Harrow Weald, Uxbridge and Hayes. 

There may be an extension to this fixed term contract, subject to funding being available.
