WHAT WE DO 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds College as a Progress Mentor in our Outstanding 14 Academies (14 Apprenticeship Academy and 14 PTECH Academy). We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and personable individual to support our learners. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress both developmentally and academically.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • Support and progress development and learning at all times.
  • Deliver and be responsible for a 14 Academies form group.
  • Cover lessons on a short-term basis as required.
  • Assist teaching staff in the classroom by working 1-1 with learners or in small groups.

YOUR PROFILE 

  • Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14-16.
  • Experience and knowledge in delivering and supporting young people on a 1-1 basis.
  • Ability to understand the barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, including the ability to implement effective interventions.
  • Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.

  • Fitness to work; this is conducted by our Occupational Health Provider

  • Section 128 check for all staff entering management roles

  • Prohibition check for all staff entering teaching related roles
