Carpentry and Joinery Modern Apprentice – Wood Machinist
35 hours per week (1 FTE), 4 Years Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work with us as a Modern Apprentice in Wood Machining on a 4 Year Fixed term contract to complete the MA. Supporting the operations of our technician and academic staff in the training workshops with preparing materials for classes along with Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing machines and equipment.
Applications are being invited from individuals who are looking at studying towards a Wood Machinist qualification whilst undertaking a recognised modern apprenticeship. This an ideal opportunity to get experience working in a busy environment, supporting staff and students at UHI Inverness.
This exciting opportunity will have you partaking in a wide range of responsibilities including maintaining machinery and preparing materials for programme delivery. Supporting at Open Day/Evening events to promote the study of Construction and ensuring a safe day to day running of the machine shop and workshops.
- IT skills in MS Office
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in a fast-moving environment, providing an effective service to a wide variety of clients
- Ability to prioritise and organise individual and team tasks effectively and in accordance with the requirements of service level agreements
