Facilities Technician

We are looking for a capable and dependable Facilities Support to maintain the College building stock including plant, structures and all ancillary equipment in accordance with the high standards set by the College.

You will:

• Complete checks and testing to ensure compliance with Statutory Acts & Regulations
• Actively participate in the day to day maintenance of buildings and services to a high standard as directed by the Facilities Manager
• Support the Caretaking function in carry out general porter duties including collect and deliver post or goods, sweep and clean external paved areas
• Ensure compliance with the College fire policy, procedures and risk assessments, including fire alarm testing, extinguisher inspections, fire door condition and operation and testing of emergency lighting
• Undertake maintenance and refurbishment work including carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, plumbing works and general repairs at all College premises including Vocational Centres

Applicants will have:

• Experience of working in a trade, eg plumbing, heating, decorating, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Experience of similar role in a wider resources team

It is desirable, although not essential, for applicants to have:

• An appropriate industry qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above i.e. in carpentry or a craft
• Experience of working within Education
