An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established and highly successful ESOL team, delivering on a range of both part time and full time ESOL courses.

The ESOL team is based in our historic Llwyn Y Bryn campus, located in the Uplands area of Swansea. Further ESOL provision is offered at both city centre and community venues. Gower College Swansea currently has just over 500 ESOL learners, ranging from a wide variety of backgrounds, who are looking to develop their English Language skills with a view to progressing onto higher levels of learning or employment.

To cater for increasing demand, we are now in a position to significantly grow our ESOL provision and are seeking applications from outstanding individuals to deliver exceptional teaching and learning experiences for our ESOL learners. If you are passionate about teaching people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including asylum seekers and refugees, this could be a hugely rewarding career.

Holding a relevant degree, you will ideally possess a CELTA Certificate (or Level 5 equivalent) and have knowledge and experience of teaching non-native speakers of English. Both previous and recent experience of teaching ESOL would be advantageous.

Successful applicants will develop and employ a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including the use of ILT, delivering successful outcomes for our students and assisting the team in achieving targets for retention and attainment.

Successful applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and quality and have a sincere desire to help our students achieve. A clear and confident communicator, you will have excellent organisational and problem solving skills. You will also be expected to work flexibly, both on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Applicants should ideally possess a recognized teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or be prepared to work towards one (Gower College Swansea offers an internal PGCE programme).

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English.  Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce.  We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills

Mae nifer o gyfleoedd cyffrous wedi codi i ymuno â’n tîm ESOL llwyddiannus a phrofedig, sy’n darparu amrywiaeth eang o gyrsiau ESOL.

Mae’r tîm ESOL wedi’i leoli yn bennaf ar gampws hanesyddol Llwyn y Bryn yn ardal yr Uplands. Mae gwasanaethau ESOL pellach hefyd yn cael eu darparu gennym yng nghanol y ddinas ac mewn canolfanau cymunedol.

Mae gan Goleg Gwyr Abertawe oddeutu 500 o ddysgwyr ESOL sy’n dod o amrywiaeth eang o gefndiroedd gwahanol. Maent oll yn dymuno datblygu eu sgiliau Saesneg er mwyn symud ymlaen i gyrsiau lefelau uwch neu gyflogaeth.

Bydd yr ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus yn datblygu a chyflwyno ystod eang o strategaethau addysgu a dysgu, gan gynnwys defnyddio TG, ysgogi canlyniadau llwyddiannus i’n dysgwyr a chynorthwyo’r tîm i gyflawni targedau at ddibenion cadw a chyrhaeddiad.

Disgwylir i’r ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus fod yn ymrwymedig i welliant parhaus ac ansawdd a rhaid iddynt fod yn angerddol dros helpu ein dysgwyr i lwyddo. Fel cyfathrebwr clir a hyderus, bydd gennych sgiliau trefnu, arwain a datrys problemau ardderchog a byddwch yn gallu gweithio’n hyblyg, ar eich liwt eich hun ac fel rhan o dîm.

Yn ddelfrydol, dylai ymgeiswyr feddu ar gymhwyster addysgu cydnabyddedig megis TAR, neu bod yn barod i weithio tuag ato (mae Coleg Gwyr Abertawe yn cynnig rhaglen TAR mewnol).

Ni cheir ceisiadau Cymraeg eu trin yn llai ffafriol na cheisiadau Saesneg.
