The Vacancy
WHAT WE DO
The Events, Enterprise and Employability Department are looking to hire a Pastoral and Progress Coach. The department has learners from Level 1 - Level 3 that require extra support with their studies and behaviour.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Give academic support, extra encouragement, mentoring and pastoral support to all students inside and outside the classroom
- Support teaching staff where individual student behaviour within a group is impacting on the learning of the group as a whole
- Give academic support, extra encouragement, mentoring and pastoral support to all students inside and outside the classroom
- Develop a 1:1 relationship with a “Case Load” of individual students, meeting regularly to review progress against the action plan
YOUR PROFILE
- We are looking for someone who has experience of working/dealing with students, particularly age 16+ and has some knowledge of barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, particularly with disaffected young people
- Our department is growing constantly with student numbers and team members so we need someone who also has strong communication skills and is highly organised
