Lecturer in Land Based Studies

We have a great opportunity based at our Shuttleworth campus for a Lecturer in Land Based Studies to become a key member of our Land and Environment department.

As a Lecturer in Land Based Studies, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering and assessing a range of Further Education Agriculture, Countryside and Fisheries based subjects.
  • Undertaking course administration as necessary including learner registration, assessment planning, exams entry and leadership of the wildlife, countryside and fisheries study programme.
  • Contributing to developments within the Programme Area/Centre.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and course leadership where appropriate.

Our ideal candidates will have recent experience in the Agriculture, Countryside, Fisheries industry and experience of working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in a related land based subject.
  • Level 3 vocational qualification in, Agriculture, Countryside or Fisheries Management or related equivalent qualification.
  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake additional training

No Teaching Qualification? Terms and Conditions - Bedford College

  • 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • £20,910 - £31,323 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience 
  • 45 days per annum (including public holidays), pro rata for part-time

  • Salary and benefits will vary for offers where enrolment on the L5 Teaching Apprenticeship is required.
