Lecturer - English - GCSE and Functional Skills

We are seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English within our cross-College provision, primarily to vocational learners aged 16-18.  This is a challenging but rewarding area of the College and you would play a key role in supporting our vocational learners with their development and to help them progress onto higher courses or the workplace.

You will preferably possess a degree or equivalent in English or a related subject area (or a Level 3 qualification plus proven successful experience of teaching English/Literacy/ESOL for at least 2 years) and will ideally possess an advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE/DET or equivalent).   You will have experience of teaching/tutoring GCSE, Functional Skills English, ESOL, EFL or literacy, and have the ability to engage and enthuse 16 to 18 year olds from a variety of vocational disciplines.   This role will include some evening teaching on a regular basis.
