WHAT WE DO 

The Learner Support Fund team provides support to eligible learners at Leeds City College, Harrogate College and Keighley College. The support includes travel passes, childcare support and meal support.

The Learner Support Fund team ensures learners complete an application form and produce evidence showing eligibility, whilst always remaining compliant. The team provides prompt resolution, in a positive and pro-active manner, of any queries raised by internal and external customers. The team maintains a pro-active and diligent approach to fraud awareness at all times. The Learner Support Fund actively promotes a College wide culture of compliance with LCC Group Financial Regulations and challenge and support actions and/or behaviours inconsistent with those Regulations.

All members of the team exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters and endeavour to ensure that any specified procedures for ensuring the security and confidentiality of information are always maintained. The teams participation in the College enrolment process and Open Days. And finally, delivers a culture of excellent customer service and implements and acts upon appropriate service delivery targets.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Co-operate in any staff development activities required to effectively carry out the duties of the post and to participate in College staff review and development schemes.
  • Confidently reply to students and staff via email, chat messenger, over the phone and face to face.
  • Prompt resolution, in a positive and pro-active manner, of any queries raised by internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a pro-active and diligent approach to fraud awareness at all times.
  • Shadow other areas of the College to gain a full understanding of the College and the different departments.
  • Be able to plan own workload, including flexibility to met the needs to the College.
  • Actively promote a College wide culture of compliance with LCC Group Financial Regulations and challenge and support actions and/or behaviours inconsistent with those Regulations.
  • Provide cover and support for colleagues in the team as required, catering for fluctuating workloads and absences.
  • Exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters, and endeavour to ensure that any specified procedures for ensuring the security and confidentiality of information are always maintained.
  • Compliance with all College policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a positive image of the College.
  • Participate in the College enrolment process.
  • Deliver a culture of excellent customer service and implement and act upon appropriate service delivery targets.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, which may be required from time to time.

YOUR PROFILE 

  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent, Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2 or above).
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to demanding deadlines and deliver.
  • Enthusiasm and confidence in establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office systems and databases, (Word, Excel, Outlook etc) or Google suite as an intermediate user.
  • Ability to create new ideas and perspectives, see possibilities and challenges established practices in constructive ways.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to demanding deadlines and deliver outcomes in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Take a questioning approach to problems and enjoy looking for solutions to challenges presented.
  • Relates effectively to others both one to one and in teams, effective in giving and receiving messages both face to face and in writing.
  • Takes responsibility for own development and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters and to ensure that any specified procedures for ensuring the security and confidentiality of information are always maintained.
