Working week: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; Total hours per week: 37.5 Preparing detailed designs for projects using 2D and increasingly 3D CAD/REVIT.

 

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for projects using 2D and 3D software.
  • Be part of the design team, responsible for producing CAD drawings in 2D and 3D that will be used in the manufacturing process of our product range as well as plotting these on the elevation of buildings.
  • You will learn about industry standards and regulations, and comply with these in all design projects.
  • You will initially attend Cadcoe and learn the fundamentals of the role, so you do not need any experience.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As an apprentice, you will be required to complete the Digital Engineering Technician apprenticeship, which involves completion of projects and assignments throughout the programme. 20% of time on your apprenticeship will be allocated for study, either in college or in the workplace. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an end point assessment.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will have the chance to work as a qualified digital engineering technician, which in turn can lead on to design office manager or other senior level roles within the organisation.
