This is an outstanding opportunity to become the Programme Manager for Plumpton College’s flourishing Animal Management Higher Education (HE) courses. This is a pivotal role in which the successful candidate will manage all aspects of our HE programmes including timetabling, extracurricular activities and student experience. The successful candidate will contribute to the college-wide HE research strategy and research opportunities exist for suitably qualified candidates, such as leading the research ethics process for the college or related to the planned development of our Animal management Centre.  Our programmes are also up for full review and the successful candidate will lead on this work, seeking direction from industry to inform new specialisms, subject areas and pathways.

We are seeking a bright, professional and ambitious individual who has the ability to provide our HE students with an excellent experience. You may have recently completed, or be close to completing, a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and are looking for your first role in academia. If so, the College has the support in place to ensure you develop your management and teaching skills, and you will be supported with excellent CPD. With the opportunity to gain a teaching qualification in your first year in post. You will also be supported to apply for HEA Fellowship. If you are a more experienced academic we can offer the support to further your career, whether that be in teaching, management and/or research.

This an extremely exciting time to be joining the Animal Management Team at Plumpton with major developments planned imminently for the Animal Centre in our beautiful rural setting. The developments will include an increase in our Animal collection with exciting native and exotic species being planned for. Your team will consist of a wide variety of experts from Education and the Animal sector, all contributing to the exciting future of the department.

The successful candidate will also be in a unique position to work closely with students in smaller groups than in other larger universities.  Therefore, a fantastic opportunity to grow the programme and the reputation of the college, whilst shaping the lives of students.

As well as a competitive salary, you can also look forward to a great range of benefits including 37 days holiday plus bank holidays and up to 5 days during Christmas closure, membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, free on-site gym, cycle to work scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and staff discounts.
