We are seeking to appoint a Learning Advocate to work with Work Based Learning students who will be studying both within the College (Uxbridge, Hayes, Harrow on the Hill and Harrow Weald Campuses) and off-site at employers’ premises. You would provide literacy and numeracy support for students on GCSE and Functional Skills English and Maths. The role will involve working closely with Lecturers, Assessors, employers and the Learning Support team, taking account of the differing needs of learners.
You should have experience of working with people with literacy or numeracy needs and should possess good communication skills, strong literacy and numeracy skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to students’ learning and achievement. You will be educated to Level 3, with GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above. You should be well-organised and be able to work effectively on your own initiative. A clean driving licence and your own personal transport is a requirement for this role, and you will need to be able to work flexibly when required.
The College has recently introduced a Working from Home policy. You may be able to work a proportion of your work time from home. Working from Home may be possible where this does not adversely impact on the operational needs of the College.
