Variable Hours Contract

WHAT WE DO

The Facilities Team at the Leeds Conservatoire ensure that all activities scheduled be they a concert, rehearsal, class, or anything else, are able to start on time in the right venue and that all relevant instruments are set up and taken down before and after a given session. This requires teamwork, commitment and willingness to learn continuously. We also issue musical instruments on loan to students and ensure that the building opens and closes securely and safely at the right times. This means operating equipment, staffing entrance reception area, testing and operating fire and intruder alarms and ensuring we are all trained and competent on first aid, health and safety and technical aspects and above everything else it requires a customer service focused approach to everything we do.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You will be part of a team on duty, issuing checking and returning loan instruments, carrying out room setups and turnarounds and helping to manage the building
  • You may be deployed to staff an entrance area (SIA licence would be needed for this) and monitor the security of the building
  • The building is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm approximately and from 7am to 3am Monday to Friday (term time)

YOUR PROFILE

  • Shift times vary across the week and between term time and out of term time, and total contracted hours and work pattern would be agreed with the successful candidate based on availability
  • Staff generally work regular shifts (either weekends, M-F Days, M-F afternoons or M-F lates) depending on their circumstances
  • These shift patterns would determine the hours per week and weeks per year that you are contracted for
  • We currently have gaps in term time lates, M-F Days and weekends, but may consider alternatives
  • We particularly value a good work ethic and flexibility across Leeds locations to support our growth across the Luminate Group
  • Additionally, a commitment to learning and developing, a background in music or work with musical instruments, bands, orchestras etc and good communication and customer service skills would be beneficial
