We are one of the largest partners of the University of the Highlands and Islands, a partnership of 13 colleges and research institutions comprising Scotland’s newest university.

As the UK’s leading tertiary education provider, we deliver both further education and higher education courses and that makes us different from traditional institutions. Through an innovative approach to learning and some of the best online learning technologies, we offer our students the complete learner journey, where they have choice and flexibility to study from access level right through to PhD.

Inverness College UHI is at the heart of the community. Working closely with businesses and stakeholders, our curriculum and research capacity is designed to meet the ever-evolving needs of industry and support the strengths and ambitions of the region. Through a personalised approach, we help our students discover their right path, providing them with a combination of qualification and job-ready skills to succeed in the workplace. Inverness College UHI has locations at Inverness Campus and also the Scottish School of Forestry (Balloch), a growing hub for research, innovation and enterprise set within a 215 acre site.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the student experience at Inverness College UHI. This post underpins the provision of exciting and engaging digital learning and supports our students by providing training and wider materials in key technologies. This role also supports our equality and inclusion agenda by providing expertise in additional support needs technology and is a champion of the benefits of using digital platforms across the College.

The post holder needs to be independent, driven and have an ability to engage with staff and students both face to face and online. This may include, for example, working with lecturers on how to use technology to improve the student experience, run workshops for students to support their digital skills development, and engage with partners across the UHI and the external learning technology community to contribute to, and benefit from, wider best practice and exemplars.

Digital skills and their development are a priority across the College and the post holder is crucial in providing the passion and expertise in delivering and supporting this.

The Learning Technologist post is within a customer-focused, dynamic ICT team dedicated to excellence in delivering ICT Services.
