Our Performing Arts Section delivers UAL courses in Drama, Dance and Music across levels 1, 2 and 3. The department has a professional standard studio theatre equipped with theatre lighting and sound equipment, two purpose built dance studios and a music department with state of the art recording studios.
We are seeking to appoint a full time Technician, preferably with experience in overseeing both Theatre and Music within a performing arts department. Working alongside students, you will need experience in rigging and operating lighting and sound for performances at industry level. Throughout the year, you will maintain the upkeep of equipment and will therefore need to have a good understanding of health and safety requirements. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all music equipment and facilities, so knowledge of working with Macs and Logic Pro X would be an advantage. You would also guide students in the use of technology and support our broad performance programme.
You should possess a relevant level qualification/experience and have up to date working knowledge of theatre lighting, sound, music technology, recording techniques and current software. You should also have excellent communication skills, be flexible and have enthusiasm for working with young people in a fast-paced, creative environment.
The College has recently introduced a Working from Home policy. You may be able to work a proportion of your work time from home. Working from Home may be possible where this does not adversely impact on the operational needs of the College.
