WHAT WE DO 

RE: is a new company being set up by The Events, Enterprise & Employability Department in partnership with Capital Projects. Its focus is on reducing the amount of waste furniture and products being sent to landfill by upcycling and reusing them. We are looking to recruit a creative individual who has experience of joinery and furniture building and upcycling with a genuine passion for creativity and inspiring people by increasing their skills in joinery and raising awareness of recycling.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

To lead on the Management of the new Furniture workshop at Mabgate ensuring that professional processes are in place that conform with Health & Safety requirements alongside other relevant statutory regulations Oversee the production of recycling furniture that conforms with all relevant safety requirements and is fit for purpose Work with the Group Director of Estates & Capital Projects and the Head of Events, Enterprise & Employability (EE&E) to identify relevant training opportunities for staff, apprentices and students who are employed by or carrying out activities in the Workshop Work with external businesses and stakeholders to promote the RE: brand and create a network of pro active partnerships

YOUR PROFILE 

Relevant industry knowledge and training linked to workshop and joinery tasks Experience of maintaining machinery and tools within a workshop environment to ensure safety of all participants Evidence of working to tight deadlines within a manufacturing context whilst also maintain high quality work

If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen and you were resident in the UK on or before 31 December 2020, you have until 30 June 2021 to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme, you can continue to prove your right to work in the UK with your passport and identity card up until 30 June 2021. 

There is no change to immigration and right to work for British and Irish Citizens.
