Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to take up the new and exciting post of Curriculum Team Manager within the School of Art and Design.

The School of Art and Design is one of five specialist Schools within the Faculty of Creative Industries at Edinburgh College. With over 700 students, the School of Art and Design is one of the largest of its kind and benefits from excellent resources and well-equipped studios at our Granton Campus. Our portfolio of courses includes SQA and UAL awarding body Diplomas at both Further and Higher Education SCQF levels. We are a vibrant and sector leading School of Art and Design within the College sector, regularly winning prestigious awards whilst also having strong links with Schools, Industry and University partners across the UK. 

We are now looking for a creative, resourceful and inspirational manager to join the school management and leadership team. Applicants must have a thorough and in-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in specialist Art and Design delivery as an experienced arts educator and leader.

As Curriculum Team Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing a dynamic and motivated Art and Design curriculum team.  You will work closely with the Head of School and in partnership with other members of the school management team to drive innovation and excellence to meet our strategic objectives, ensure quality assurance whilst managing the School’s resources through effective timetabling, budget-control and line management.

Successful applicants will have a proven track record of leading, supporting and motivating a high performing Art and Design curriculum team to maintain and improve the School’s strong student achievement and progression across a range of SCQF levels and awarding bodies.

Qualified to Degree level or above in an Art and Design subject, with a recognised Teaching Qualification, you must have proven experience of delivering and assessing a specialist Art and Design subject within a Further or Higher Education setting. Strong candidates will have a detailed understanding and expertise in leading teams to prepare for external verification and moderation for successful UAL awarding body and SQA qualification certification.

Due to current circumstances applicants must be able to evidence that they have the relevant skills to manage a team and effectively deliver online as part of a blended delivery model working remotely via Microsoft Teams in their application.
