Student Support is a key service area in the College offering non-academic support and advice to students. This could include help with housing, benefits, health and well-being, relationship difficulties and any other problem that affects students’ learning.
We wish to appoint a Support Officer, focusing on Mental Health, who will provide specialist support to students experiencing mental health difficulties through effective information, support, assessment and referrals. You would also provide advice for staff on recognising and supporting students with mental health difficulties.
You should have a qualification in Mental Health, Psychology, Counselling or other health related qualification, together with a good understanding of Mental Health concerns and how they may present in an educational environment. You should be able to remain calm under pressure and have sound judgement and integrity with good attention to detail. The role will involve travelling to external meetings and between our two Campuses (Harrow-on-the-Hill and Harrow Weald).
