We have an exciting opportunity for a HE Student Success Practitioner with a experience of supporting students with difficulties/disabilities in Higher Education to join our Higher Education Department here at our York campus. This role will be working 37 hours per week, term time only.  We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for providing and delivering advice, guidance and support to students with various difficulties to enable them to achieve their full potential in a learning environment, alongside supporting the wider HE team in retention, access and participation, and student experience activities.

Sector experience and knowledge specifically in supporting students with a range of difficulties/disabilities e.g Specific Learning Differences, Mental Health, Autism, Hearing & Visual Impairments, Physical Disabilities is essential. Additionally knowledge and experience of providing wider academic and pastoral support will be beneficial.

The successful candidate will work alongside the HE Support & Mental Wellbeing Coordinator in order to provide and deliver advice, guidance and support to students. Additionally will support students and HE staff on retention and achievement activities.

Educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject, a teaching qualification would be beneficial but not essential, proven ability to work effectively in an educational or employment setting and an ability to manage and respond to conflicting priorities.
