WHAT WE DO
This is an exciting time to join us as our area covers Estates and Capital Projects which includes Health, Safety and Environment Team, the Campus Facilities Team, Property and Maintenance Team and Capital Projects Team. Between us all we service the estates across the whole of the Luminate Group. As well as undergoing a significant change to enable future growth, we are embarking in a growth programme to create a number of new campuses over the next five years which will help us to meet the needs of our students and sustainability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies and cost analyses, whilst working with Procurement.
- Work with colleagues to identify resources and materials needed for construction and maintenance projects.
- Run cost analyses and carry out reconciliation for ongoing repair, maintenance Capital project works.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies and agree these with the procurement department.
- Prepare cost estimates and options for projects whilst ensuring Building Regulations, Safety, Health and Environmental Regulations, quality standards and codes of practice are met.
- Prepare the tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities as needed, with the architect and client.
- Select, price and source construction materials.
- Select subcontractors, agree the scope of services and allocate work.
- Monitor progress on business plans and provide pragmatic solutions to ensure projects and programmes stay on time and budget.
- Identify commercial risks and help develop suitable mitigation measures.
- Value completed work and arrange payments to contractors and subcontractors as necessary.
- Analyse progress and write detailed reports on cost time quality and compliance with Health and Safety.
- Liaise between site managers, project managers, site engineers and the client.
- Provide advice, guidance and prepare and administer as required contracts for PPM, LSMC, MTC.
YOUR PROFILE
- You must have a minimum of a HNC / HND in a relevant subject
- Relevant post qualification experience
- Working knowledge of the construction industry and building materials
- Experience of quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the building and maintenance works
- Experience of working with a variety of clients on large and small-scale projects
- Experience of preparing solutions to keep projects on time, in budget and to the required standards
- Knowledge of building, maintenance, statutory and mandatory compliance for building operations in the public sector
- It would also be desirable to have membership of a professional association e.g. RICS or CIOB
