Contract: Fixed Term Contract until December 2023

If you are passionate about shaping the local economy in Nottingham and you have a desire to help small to medium enterprises (SME’s) develop their existing workforces to the best of their potential then this role is for you.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the rapidly expanding project team at Nottingham College. This is a fundamental role that supports local SME’s in realising the professional development needs of their existing workforce and to help engage them with relevant training to ultimately improve their labour market status. You will be responsible for building strong working relationships with our local organisations to help them build the talent of the future.

The sole focus of this role is to work with local SME’s to identify their skills needs and to help build employer responsive, bespoke courses that fully meet the needs of our clients. Strong communication skills are essential as you will need to be the conduit between both the local community and our curriculum teams so they can understand the needs of our employers and help work with you to build suitable courses fit for purpose for the industry.

This post will also help support learners from underrepresented groups (Women, ethnic minority groups and disability learners) to help ensure we are removing any barriers they may have to training and to ensure they are getting the same opportunities to personal development as their peers. This post will work closely alongside our Skills Solutions Consultant’s to help encourage engagement on projects from our local SME’s.

We are looking for a tenacious self-starter, who is dedicated to helping shape the future careers of our local community. This role is both employer and learner focused and will involve building strong working relationships with the students you are trying to support on to courses whilst equally building rapport with local companies and selling the benefits of a developing workforce.

This role has a high level of autonomy and therefore self-management, organisation, reliability and professionalism is key at all times. Strong IT skills are required with a working knowledge of the full Microsoft office suite. A full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle would also be beneficial but not essential, if you feel you could travel around Nottingham cost and time effectively we would be willing to support.

Experience within this sector or a sales background is not essential but would be beneficial.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you have a look at this specification attached to the Role Profile and complete your application directly from this, as these specifications are an integral part of the selection process.

For further details on this post which the job description and person specification cannot answer for you, please contact Joanne Smith, email joanne.smith@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk .

Interviews/assessments are planned for week commencing 24th January 2022.
