Pembrokeshire College is looking for Learning Support Assistants to support learners who have Additional Learning Needs and disabilities, to achieve their career aspirations and programme of study.  Due to a gender under representation within the team, male applicants are particularly welcome.

Salary Details:
£18,637 (pro rata) equivalent to £9.69 per hour

Contract Type: Full time (30 hours per week), fractional (less than 30 hours per week), permanent and fixed term positions are available

9-4 (9-5 during the current academic year), up to 5 days per week, over the College’s term (36 weeks per year)

Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent is essential.

Please note: Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to commencing work (this is to be paid for by the individual at a cost of £40).

With effect from 1st April 2016 all FE Support Workers in Wales are required to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), prior to commencing employment (this is to be paid for by the  individual  at a cost of £15).

Details:

We are looking for a number of candidates with experience of supporting individuals with a range of Additional Learning Needs.  It is essential that they have a good standard of education and strong literacy  and numeracy skills, together with excellent IT, interpersonal and communication skills.   Support is currently provided either face to face or online via the College’s online learning platform, therefore candidates must have strong IT skills.    Knowledge of assistive technology would be advantageous. 

We are looking for flexible individuals who enjoy working within a team environment.  The preferred candidate will have experience of supporting learners with  Autism and associated behaviour profiles.  They may be required to undertake personal care.
