Animal Welfare Technician
The post holder must have a broad range of knowledge and technical skill working with a range of animals, including small domestic mammals, large hoof stock, exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and aquatic species.
Supporting lecturers and preparing stock and equipment for use in practical classes, in addition to supervising groups of students on commercial experience also form part of this varied role. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the College is best placed to serve the needs of industry and our students by demonstrating key practical skills including safe animal handling in a range of practical sessions.
Applicants must hold or be working towards a level 3 / 4 in a related field; however relevant industry experience would supersede this.
You will be a strong team player with high personal standards that will naturally align with the Animal Welfare Centre. You will be capable of dealing with manual handling which is a requirement of this post.
The post holder must hold a full driving licence.
