We are growing rapidly with over 200 apprentices on roll at present across three higher level programmes. The Level 4 Software Developer and Data Analyst apprenticeships are further enhanced with the delivery of a foundation degree alongside. We also deliver 3 pathways on the Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship; Software engineer, Data Analyst and Tech Consultant.

Your role is integral to ensuring the compliance and audit strategy is being effectively followed and meets the requirements of external bodies. With your line manager and team, you will play a significant role in shaping the processes in place to successfully meet the deliverables of this strategy.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a diligent individual with a good understanding of apprenticeship compliance requirements in line with the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Working alongside the Head of Apprenticeship programmes you will collate, monitor and manage the compliance documentation of our apprentices and their employers. You will have the opportunity to adapt and improve current processes to create an accurate and efficient workflow that is scalable

As well as carrying out key assurance activities, you will also work closely with other departments to feed into monthly ILR data submissions and internal & external audits and reports as required.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Collate, monitor and maintain accurate compliance documentation of apprentices and employers in time for monthly ILR data submissions.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to apprentices and employers as required
  • Contribute to the development of an effective audit strategy
  • Manage the digital account and liaise with the data team and employers to ensure all information is accurate.
  • Identify and communicate funding body requirements, and lead on the development and implementation of required changes to ensure compliance
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure issues with key business processes are understood and work in partnership with them to develop effective solutions
  • Work with the data team by confirming compliance requirements to support submission of monthly data returns
  • Carrying out monthly internal audits relating to different stages of the apprenticeship journey, i.e., from application stage and enrolment through to completion of the apprenticeship
  • Assist  with preparation of, and support the implementation of required actions arising from  ESFA audits
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Apprenticeship Programmes as may be reasonably expected with the post.

Person Specification

  • Experience in carrying out compliance audits including ESFA within an FE, HE or apprenticeship environment, underpinned by a working  knowledge of government funding rules and contractual obligations
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter, and comfortable with being largely self-managed
  • Demonstrable experience of providing effective advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of data compilation, analysis, and reporting
  • Relevant  A levels or equivalent qualifications
  • Awareness of GDPR legislation and data protection compliance requirements
  • A commitment to safeguarding legislation

Remuneration and Benefits

Salary:                           £30,000

Holidays:                     25 days per year plus up to five closure days that usually occur at Christmas. [The college’s holiday year runs from 1 August to 31 July] 
DBS:                               All employees undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check
