WHAT WE DO 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds College as a Lead Teacher of Business Technologies in our Outstanding (OFSTED Feb 2018) 14+ Academies (14+ Apprenticeship Academy, 14+ PTECH Academy and 14+ ESOL Academy). We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to lead on the Business Technologies curriculum to our learners. The post holder will work closely with the Academy SLT to cultivate and develop an already outstanding part of the college and must have relevant teaching qualifications and experience with KS4 learners.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide strong leadership to the Business Technologies curriculum area so teaching and learning consistently meets standards.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of strategies to develop all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment, especially in Business Technologies as well as working closely with SLT to develop our PTECH programme alongside IBM.
  • Ensure that all young people make at least good progress and that ambitious targets for student performance are met and tracked and accountability for the learning, progress and achievement of Business Technologies for 14+ Academies students
  • You will be inventive, determined and persistent when implementing student focused interventions in order to help progress learners in meeting and/or exceeding targets.
  • Continue to develop an innovative and progressive curriculum in Business Technologies lessons which is positive, engaging and student focused – including cross-curricular links.
  • Performance manage robustly all staff in the Business Technologies department so that ambitious targets are met and performance is of a high standard.

YOUR PROFILE 

  • Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery with Key Stage 4.
  • Relevant teaching experience in subject area across a range of abilities and at Key Stage.
  • Experience of managing student progression, assessment and tracking including putting in place interventions.  
  • Experience leading and managing a curriculum area.
