Luminate Education Group consists of; Harrogate College (HC), Keighley College (KC), Leeds City College (LCC), Leeds Conservatoire (LC) and White Rose Academies Trust (WRAT).  Luminate Education Group is one of the fastest improving and most innovative education groups in the country.

The 14-16 Skills Development Programme has moved to Mabgate to a purpose-built environment for our pre 16 provision. This will incorporate facilities to support students prepare for adulthood alongside studying English and Maths and having the opportunity to 'try out' vocational courses to support their progression. The 14-16 Skills Development Programme is for students aged 14-16 who are unable to access mainstream Year 10 and Year 11 provision. In 2021/22 we have 85 pre 16 students Students referred to the course who often have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or additional SEND needs which has resulted in their disengagement from mainstream provision. Many of the students who attend the provision have an Education, Health and Care Plan.


  • Ensure reception provides an effective first point of contact for all visitors
  • Ensure that staff and students have relevant ID and lanyards to enter site
  • Maintain a fire register of all persons present
  • Undertake receptionist duties including answering calls and dealing with queries and emails
  • Ensure relevant queries are signposted appropriately and messages recorded and passed on
  • Ensure queries and other information is updated on the relevant college systems
  • Maintain student records including registers, timetables, destinations and change requests
  • Support absence monitoring, recording and follow up of students
  • Draft and send letters, complete stock audits and to complete resource orders
  • Support student enrolments and work with MIS to ensure registers are correct
  • Support the department with curriculum planning, timetabling, rooming, staff utilisation and course profiling
  • Carry out regular data checks
  • Support the department to ensure examinations and registrations with awarding bodies are accurate
  • Ensure the smooth co-ordination of parent and carers’ evenings and open events


  • Substantial experience of working in a customer focused role/ environment
  • Experience of administration in a FE environment
  • Experience of using data to monitor attendance and achievement
  • Experience of using IT to support education
  • Managing a range of tasks to conflicting deadlines
  • Experience of working with students with SEMH and SEND
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Excellent decision maker and a high level of problem solving skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work for significant periods under own initiative
  • High level of IT skills including Microsoft office google and student records systems
