An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a part-time Games Teacher to join the Digital team here at the Joseph Wright Centre. We are looking for a dedicated, motivated professional who is forward thinking, innovative and ready to deliver an outstanding experience to our students. To deliver inspiring teaching and learning, incorporating high quality and challenging learning experiences.

You may currently be working in the Games industry and looking for a new challenge, or you studied Games Design and Development as part of your Higher Education Degree. Whichever route you have followed the ideal candidate will have knowledge and theoretical understanding of Game Design and Audience theories. Principles of animation, the Games development pipeline along with physically based rendering systems. You will possess and be able to demonstrate your technical skills and software experience in 2D animation, 2D Game engine experience, Unreal Engine 4 Blueprints3D Programs (Maya, 3D Coat, and Quixel)

The Games department offers vocational qualifications at levels 2 and 3 which the successful candidate will be required to teach across. To really excel in this role, you will need to live and breathe all things Gaming. As an organised individual, in addition to your skills and knowledge, you may already have had experience in planning, designing, and delivering face to face in class lessons and remote lessons via Teams or other remote applications if not you will have the opportunity to learn this first-hand whilst, gaining experience in devising appropriate resources, assessment strategies and feedback to students through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods. By bringing with you your passion for the subject, links with industry and high expectations of self and of students, you will be able to share your knowledge and experience propelling students onto the next stage of their journey.

In addition to the requirements detailed above, candidates will need a recognised teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one and achieve a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.  Please see the job description for more details.
