The School of Science is a dynamic and growing department, having recently received a total remodelling of the classrooms and laboratory areas. It provides a range of outstanding courses from Level 2 upwards. The key focus in the curriculum area is to provide learners with the vocational skills required to complement their academic development, increasing their employability and potential for success in future study.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the diverse team of Science staff as an Apprentice Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of the Science curriculum across all levels. Duties will include the provision of flexible support for lecturing staff, maintaining laboratory health and safety standards and to assist the Technical Support Manager in ensuring the support needs of the Curriculum Team are met.

During the two-year period you will receive dedicated training one day per week as part of the apprenticeship with us, training will take place at Solihull College & University Centre. On successful completion of the training, you will achieve a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will be passionate about developing a career in a laboratory setting and hold a minimum of a Level 3 Science Qualification.
