Schools Engagement Co-ordinator

Fixed Term Contract to provide maternity cover until 31/07/22

Derby College Group has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our Transitions team, working with KS4 14-16 year old pupils both at college and back in their home institutions. In this role you will offer advice and guidance to groups of year 10 and 11 pupils, out at school about their next steps and promoting DCG as a suitable pathway when considering post 16 progression.  In addition, the suitable candidate will work alongside the Pre-16 team here at DCG working with pupils of compulsory school age who access the college in conjunction with their provision back at school, to access vocational subjects such as Construction, Animal Care, Equine studies and Engineering.

This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave until end of July 2022, offering a real insight into DCG and the wider schools community. Some evening work is expected where the suitable candidate will deliver sessions to groups regarding post 16 provision at DCG and also some tours of the different campuses for school groups, mainly for those in year 10 or 11, wanting to explore what college has to offer.

You will work closely with the Pre-16 team and compile data on the different tours and activities undertaken to enable us to promote the college effectively and work productively with schools within the city and county.

A professional, collaborative, and proactive approach to all aspects of school engagement are therefore key requirements of this role. 

The successful applicant will be an effective communicator with excellent literacy, numeracy and organisational skills. The proven ability to work with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail as well as juggle multiple priorities in a calm and efficient manner are fundamental to this role.
