CU London is seeking a Head of Curriculum for Law and Policing. We are looking for a candidate who can contribute to either or both of these subject areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of BA (hons) Law and Practice, BA (hons) Professional Policing and the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) programme.

We are looking for a positive, adaptable and emotionally intelligence individual who can demonstrate a range of academic and administrative skills relevant to higher education management. Good knowledge of the higher education landscape, higher-level apprenticeships, and an understanding of how developments in the higher education sector may influence operational practices, is essential for this role.

Reporting to the Head of Academic Studies, you will work as an integral member of the Senior Management Team and contribute to enhancing the experience for all students studying at CU London through the promotion of our life-shaped learning model aimed at meeting the varying needs of our diverse student profile.

As Head of Curriculum you will be allocated a profile of courses and you will be responsible for the successful management of all academic staff working within these course areas. This will be achieved through the effective line management of associated Course Leaders. You will support and challenge the team to achieve a high standard of performance in teaching, learning and assessment, student support, curriculum development, periodic reviews, and performance management processes. You will be responsible for supporting student recruitment and ensuring retention, progression and completion rates are achieved to expected levels.

In addition to your management responsibilities you will contribute to the teaching and learning within the curriculum area. Acting as a role model, you will promote a high standard in classroom practice and actively engage with events, workshops and extracurricular activities.

You will be required to network and engage with external stakeholders to enrich the student experience. An excellent standard in IT and communication skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines, is essential for this role. CU London works very closely with CU Coventry and CU Scarborough and you will be expected to adopt a collegiate approach to working with colleagues from other locations across the Coventry University Group.

CU London operates over two locations in Dagenham and Greenwich. You will be assigned a base campus on appointment but there is an expectation that you will travel between campuses in response to business needs.
