Apprenticeship rates are age related: 

(16yrs to 17yrs) £4.92 per hour or £9,492 PA

(18yrs to 20yrs) £6.86 per hour or £13,235 PA

(21yrs to 22yrs) £8.66 per hour  or £16,707 PA

(23+yrs) £8.91 per hour or £17,189 PA

Fixed Term Contract until February 2023

WHAT WE DO 

We are the Independent Learning team for Leeds City College. We are a new team within college and we are here to support students to develop their independent learning skills and achieve personal goals. We provide skills development support across five disciplines. Digital skills, Independent study skills, Academic skills, Digital sense and e-safety as well as Future ready skills. We are looking for people who want to gain experience acting as our teaching assistants, supporting the delivery of independent learning whilst also studying for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. This role will support us as we work to fully realise the aims of our department within college.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support our delivery of independent learning skills
  • Support the delivery of English and maths as required for the apprenticeship qualification
  • Support independent learning in open learning spaces
  • Plan and supporting the planning of a range of sessions
  • Facilitate sessions as required for the apprenticeship qualification
  • Research, plan and build learning resources to support the independent learning aims within college
  • Maintain appropriate learning records for any and all students that you support

  • You will enjoy developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of college students
  • You will want to work supporting teaching and learning in class and also settings beyond the four walls of the classroom
  • You will like the idea of working in a cross college team to develop independent learning skills
  • You will display creativity when building resources and supporting students
  • You will have great communication and interpersonal skills whilst also having a good eye for detail
