WHAT WE DO

As part of the Luminate Group, Harrogate College is in an exciting period of growth.

The Electrical provision is a key part of the colleges future, we recognise the demand for electrical apprentices to the local employment sector and we want to be able to continue to support our local businesses.

This is especially true in regard to the local electricians, many of whom operate as independent businesses.

To support that vision, we are looking to appoint an Assessor/Trainer in Electrical Installation to work alongside the electrical teaching team and the other apprentice teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The role requires you to be responsible for supporting your apprentices throughout their journey.

You will manage contact and relations between all key stakeholders, ensuring the learners have the best opportunity to complete the programme.

You will adapt the role of a mentor and take ownership for the apprentices within your case load, aiding to ensure the apprentice makes the most of all learning opportunities.

You will be expected to work closely with colleagues to promote stability and growth within the department and maintain and update knowledge of the subject area and co-operate in any staff development activities.

YOUR PROFILE

The right candidate will be passionate about the Electrical industry and want to pass their knowledge on to apprentices, ensuring they are working to progress and develop throughout the programme.

You will need the drive and organisational skills to manage your own work diary and commitments, working to prioritise apprentices and employers.

Experience of the electrical industry is essential, and a teaching and/or assessing background is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
