Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Arborist Assessor to join our Apprenticeship Department, based here at our York campus. We are looking for an experienced arborist who wants to train the next generation for the industry. You will be able to develop productive relationships quickly with our apprentices and employers and inspire them to succeed.

This role will be working 37 hours per week to plan and deliver high quality training to an agreed teaching caseload, delivering a range of arboriculture skills. This role also involves visiting apprentices in their workplace to carry out checks on their progress, so a full UK driving licence is essential, as well as the physical ability to access workplaces.

As one of the largest, specialist land-based colleges in the U.K over recent years, we have a new strategy for the next decade, emphasising our commitment to a technical and professional land-based curriculum, outstanding resources that deliver an exceptional and inclusive student experience and contributing to the circular economy and sustainable developments are embedded into college life.

The successful candidate will have recent practical experience in the industry and be educated to level three or above in a relevant arboriculture subject. Candidates should be willing to work towards a teaching qualification, where they do not already hold this.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

We offer a pleasant, safe and friendly environment in which to work and our employees enjoy a range of generous benefits including 35 days annual leave (pro-rata) in addition to bank holidays, ample free parking, canteen facilities, Teacher’s Pension and a range of employee benefits as well as the opportunity to work within spectacular grounds.
