We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team on a part -time basis (22.5 hours per week), working closely with our Head of Inclusive Learning and Development to adopt innovative approaches to support young people transition back into education and take next steps to FE. This position is offered on a fixed term basis until 19th August 2022.
Whether you’re a Qualified Teacher, Unqualified Teacher, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Teaching Assistant (TA), Home Tutor, Learning Mentor or Support Worker, we would like to hear from you.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with 16-19 years old with or without an EHC plan that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including; SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Difficulties, and/or Specific Learning difficulties. As an Outreach Mentor, you will be expected to develop a good rapport with young people in order to support them effectively at home or on site with transition. You will, therefore, need to have an excellent understanding of SEND and have strong behaviour management skills. Training and support will be provided.
