Job Coach - Supported Internships

Applications are invited for the posts of a Supported Internship Job Coaches primarily based at local employers.

Working across 3 days the role is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities. You will support interns to learn their placement tasks and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to succeed. You will work closely with mentors on the host site to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern. You will facilitate their progression into paid employment by supporting interns to make direct contact with employers and by carrying out your own employer engagement.

We are looking for people who are highly motivated, with experience of supporting people with disabilities as well as providing information, advice and guidance. You will need to have high expectations of people with learning disabilities and have excellent coaching skills. You will need to be an excellent networker with the ability to build and retain partnerships both internally and externally and have good problem solving and negotiation skills.

This position is initially a fixed term contract for 1 year and will be reviewed at the end of this period. The contract offered will be calculated on an agreed number of guaranteed working hours over the 34 week year, this will be discussed at interview.
