Cleaner, Campus Facilities Services (Part Time) (LUM19)

WHAT WE DO 

The Directorate of Estates and Capital Projects comprises Health, Safety and Environment team, the Campus Facilities team, Property and Maintenance team and Capital Projects team. Between them they service the estate across the whole of the Luminate Group; As well as undergoing a significant restructure to enable future growth and address much needed change, the directorate is embarking in a growth programme to create a number of new campuses over the next five years which will address a significant growth in student numbers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Undertake effective daily cleaning and tidying of the college premises to the agreed cleaning specification of the college, following relevant Health & Safety, Security and Environmental arrangements as instructed.
• Monitor and report any areas of concern, assisting in house-keeping and maintenance of the building fabric.
• Ensure that any faulty equipment is reported immediately and that any equipment is operated safely, with due attention to Health & Safety legislation.
• Co-operate in any staff development activities required to effectively carry out the duties of the post and to participate in the college Appraisal Scheme.
• Work flexibly and extend the cleaning service to cater for special events such as Open Days
• Be responsible for assisting in the security of the College’s buildings.
• As part of working in a safe environment, being aware of yourself and those around you and to follow good health and safety methods of work.
• Be responsible for complying with Health & Safety Policies, such as COSHH, and procedures as instructed.
• Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the post, which may be required from time to time.

YOUR PROFILE 

• Essential: Previous commercial cleaning experience, a good work related knowledge of Health and Safety;
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and use initiative to report areas of concern
• Positive attitude towards tidiness and house keeping Good interpersonal skills
• Previous experience of using cleaning machines ( or willingness to undertake training)
• Desirable: NVQ Level 1, 2 Certification in Cleaning skills.
