CU Scarborough, established by Coventry University Group as a new campus in North Yorkshire, aims to provide high quality, student centric, career focused higher education on the Yorkshire Coast. CU Scarborough works in close collaboration with a number of partners including a range of local employers.  It operates through one of Coventry University’s wholly owned subsidiaries (Coventry University College Ltd.) and is supported by the wider group infrastructure. Our new purpose built facilities opened in September 2016 located at the heart of Scarborough’s brand new circa £50 million education and sports campus.

The delivery of Nursing programmes at CU Scarborough, through the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Coventry University, plays an integral part in developing the local workforce of the future.  In response to the workforce needs the Nursing provision at CU Scarborough is rapidly expanding and developing to meet the local service needs.  This provision now includes:

•             Pre-Registration Nursing (Adult, Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing)

•             Apprenticeships (Nursing Associates and Degree Apprenticeships)

•             Blended delivery programmes (BSc and MSc Adult Nursing)

•             Foundation Degree Nursing Associate

The Tutor in Nursing post will be expected to have an interest in the Foundation Degree Nursing Associates whilst having the ability to impact across the range of programs at CU Scarborough.   Sound knowledge and experience of delivering Nursing programmes is essential whilst demonstrating a breadth of clinical practice and experience.  Supporting students with clinical skills and placement activity is integral to the role of Tutor in Nursing whilst liaising with colleagues across the teaching sites in Coventry and London.

High quality learning, teaching, assessment and curriculum development in Nursing and the related programme areas is essential alongside your ability to understand the challenges of supporting and guiding students through their study.  You will be a registered nurse, an excellent communicator and will be able to support and motivate students from a wide range of backgrounds.   Demonstrating sound pedagogic practice and creativity you will use a wide range of approaches and learning resources to ensure that students engage fully in their learning experience, motivating good attendance, retention, achievement and progression.

Ensuring that your teaching is informed by evidenced based, best practice is essential and you will need to be motivated in maintaining your own continuous professional development and revalidation.   You will be keen to work as part of a high performing team to promote the Nursing programmes and be driven in helping to build a strong reputation for Nursing at CU Scarborough.
