Student Counsellor and Lecturer in Counselling

This is an exciting opportunity tfor a qualified and experienced Counsellor to join the College in a role which provides a proactive counselling service to full time and part time students, across all campuses. for 2 and half days a week and in addition delivers on our counselling level 2 and 3 programmes for 9.5 hours per week 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and at least two years’ experience as a practising counsellor.  Experience working with 14-16 year olds and a good knowledge of educational safeguarding procedures and legal duty of care is  required.  Clear, calm communication skills necessary to deal with crisis situations combined with high levels of empathy and humility to ensure counselling sessions are well targeted, are essential together with experience of teaching counselling, ideally within further education, at levels 2 and 3.

The role is term time only.  Applications will also be considered from individuals wishing to undertake only Lecturing or the student counselling aspect of the role.
