IT Technician x 2

The college is continuing an exciting programme of improving the IT facilities offered to our students and staff. As a result of a recent department re-structure, we now have an opportunity for two additional experienced IT Technicians to join our Computer Services Department to help us with this programme, and to provide high quality support to staff and student users of the College Systems and Network.  

Applicants should possess a proven track record of working as an IT Technician or in a similar role, supported by relevant experience gained through working in a commercial and/or education environment. Applicants will have a good knowledge of hardware and software installation and support, coupled with demonstrable experience of diagnosing and resolving problems in an efficient and effective manner. Experience of supporting Apple equipment is highly desirable, as is any experience of supporting telephony.

Educated to level 3 or above in an IT or related discipline, applicants will be able to learn new systems quickly, will possess a strong customer service ethic and be an excellent communicator. Applicants must adopt a flexible approach to working patterns and be willing to travel and set up equipment off-site.

For one of the posts, the ability to communicate effectively using the Welsh language has been deemed as essential.

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to completing 6 months service).

Mae’r Coleg yn ceisio gwella ymhellach y cyfleusterau TG sydd ar gael i fyfyrwyr a staff. Wrth i ni ail-strwythuro’r adran, mae cyfle wedi codi i ddau Dechnegydd TG phrofiadol i ymuno ag Adran Gwasanaethau Cyfrifiadurol y Coleg i'n helpu gyda'r rhaglen hon, a darparu cymorth o safon uchel i staff a dysgwyr sy'n defnyddio systemau a rhwydweithiau'r Coleg.

Dylai fod gan ymgeiswyr hanes o weithio fel Technegydd TG neu mewn rôl debyg, ynghyd â phrofiad mewn rôl o'r fath mewn amgylchedd masnachol a/neu ym myd addysg. Bydd gwybodaeth dda gan ymgeiswyr o osod offer caledwedd a meddalwedd a darparu cymorth, ynghyd â phrofiad o ddiagnosio a datrys problemau mewn modd effeithlon ac effeithiol.  Mae profiad o ddarparu gwasanaeth cymorth ar gyfer offer Apple yn ddymunol iawn, a hefyd unrhyw brofiad o ddarparu gwasanaeth cymorth teleffoni.

Wedi cael addysg i lefel 3 neu uwch mewn TG neu ddisgyblaeth gysylltiedig, bydd ymgeiswyr yn gallu dysgu systemau newydd yn gyflym ac yn dangos etheg gwasanaeth cwsmeriaid gryf ac yn gyfathrebwr ardderchog.  Rhaid i ymgeiswyr fabwysiadu ymagwedd hyblyg at batrymau gwaith a bod yn barod i deithio a gosod offer oddi ar y safle.

Ar gyfer un o’r rolau, bydd rhaid i ddeiliad y swydd gyfathrebu’n effeithiol trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg. Mae hyn yn hanfodol.

Nid oes angen i ygeiswyr blaenorol ail-ymgeisio.

Ni cheir ceisiadau Cymraeg eu trin yn llai ffafriol na cheisiadau Saesneg.
