Hourly Paid Lecturer - Fenestration

We are seeking an Hourly Paid Lecturer to teach on fenestration programmes within the area of Construction. Teaching will include, but not be limited to, the delivery of the skills and knowledge highlighted below:

• Planning for, and the Installation requirements related to fenestration to all applicable legislation/regulations.

• Handling and storage of fenestration materials in accordance with legislation/regulations.

• Preparation of site, including required equipment/tooling equipment. 

• Safe removal of existing fenestration, considering risks such as with asbestos. 

• Importance of structural integrity when carrying out fenestration activities. 

• Aperture preparation in accordance with legislation/regulations.

• Installation of fenestration units using the required tools/equipment as appropriate to British standards and manufacturing requirements.

• Safe installation of glass units and any other additional hardware to the fenestration unit. 

• Internal and External finishing, considering legislation/regulations where applicable. 

• Completion of installation, including tidying workspace / disposal of waste and handover paperwork. 

• Final inspections. 

Applicants will have proven knowledge of the subject area and hold an appropriate subject or professional qualification, ideally teamed with industry related work experience. Candidates will ideally have teaching and / or training experience and hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification.
