WHAT WE DO
The Directorate of Estates and Capital Projects comprises Health, Safety and Environment team, the Campus Facilities team, Property and Maintenance team and Capital Projects team. Between them they service the estate across the whole of the Luminate Group; As well as undergoing a significant restructure to enable future growth and address much needed change, the directorate is embarking in a growth programme to create a number of new campuses over the next five years which will address a significant growth in student numbers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage and input into the compliance database.
- Reviews compliance database against compliance standards and flag issues to manager.
- Prepare reports on deviation from compliance standards for both schedule checks and monitoring any shortfall of expected operating standards.
- Make recommendations of prioritised remedial action where shortfalls are found.
- Fill out and file reports on compliance issues pass on to suitably qualified colleagues to address shortfalls.
- When compliance problems arise, conducts investigations to discover the roots of the issue.
- Stays informed about environmental and operational standards and makes sure a company operates within those standards.
- Write and distribute documents that inform others on how to improve compliance.
- Consult with Asset Manager and relevant bodies and other professionals on compliance matters
YOUR PROFILE
- You must have GCSEs including English and maths (or equivalent qualifications) and a relevant Level 4 qualification in an M&E or Building/Construction trade.
- Knowledge of building maintenance, compliance regimes and knowledge of ethical employment standards set out by the law and corporate regulations and technical compliance data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, IT and interpersonal skills, a positive outlook and be able to work both in a team and self directed as required.
The ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following:
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards as they apply to Educational establishments
- Experience of developing maintenance recommendations based on mandatory compliance requirements
- Experience of writing reports
- Experience of providing excellent customer service
