Careers, Work Experience & Progression is part of the Student Life Directorate.

The Directorate leads on activities and strategies which contribute to an outstanding further education student experience closely aligned with the college and group strategic objectives.

Careers, Work Experience & Progression supports students through guidance, opportunities and experience to make informed life choices about their career pathway and destination.

The Career Learning Manager is an exciting new role that has been established to: drive (and embed) the quality and consistency of careers education delivery in curriculum; and lead on the college's training offer for the L6 Careers Guidance & Development.


Drive the relevance and impact of careers education to underpin the knowledge and understanding of students and staff, and through collaboration with curriculum teams embed good practice into cross college teaching, learning and assessment

Lead on the impact of career education across the FE colleges, working with curriculum departments to develop innovative learning and resources to inspire and motivate students to achieve their intended destinations and career pathways

Lead on the design and delivery of the L6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development as part of the Career Trainee Programme and wider Luminate CPD offer

Lead a small team of careers specialists to work with curriculum departments and tutorial teams to develop, plan and monitor the delivery of outstanding CEIAG


You will have:

  • LC6 Careers qualification as well as a L5 teaching qualification.
  • Proven teaching experience and CEIAG professional knowledge and practice.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Careers Guidance or L6 equivalent
  • Relevant up to date CEIAG knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education, Higher Education, or school sector
  • Proven experience of planning, developing, and delivering innovative intervention for CEIAG learning and progression activity
