We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic and committed Academic Coach to join our Sixth Form team. The College is looking for an exceptional individual to join our distinctive educational setting.
At Loughborough Sixth Form College, we are determined to ensure that all of our students reach their full academic potential and develop the skills and personality to lead successful futures. Our curriculum provision is predominantly A Level with a small cohort of Applied Science students. We have high ambitions for our students and Academic Coaches are a key part of our support network.
It is an exciting time to join the College and we are looking for an exceptional individual to join our distinctive educational setting. As an Academic Coach, you will be responsible for supporting students academically across one of our pathways. This will be through regular tutorial sessions, 1:1 coaching sessions, assertive mentoring, delivering enrichment activities or helping students with their UCAS applications and progression goals. The support will involve tracking students against their target grades and engagement in sessions. You will help learners to reflect on what they need to do to improve and ensuring that appropriate interventions are in place for them to succeed.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a student centred environment. Whilst prior experience of delivering workshops, coaching students or UCAS would be desirable, we are keen to hear from applicants who can display transferable skills of pro-activity, initiative and building positive relationships.
Loughborough College welcomes applications regardless of age, gender (or transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status (including civil partnerships), pregnancy or maternity, disability, race, religion or belief, trade union affiliation, or other irrelevant factor. We will interview all disabled and ex-servicemen applicants who meet the essential criteria. Loughborough College positively embraces flexible working, recognising that employees may wish to balance work and family/home life and will consider all flexible working applications.
Alongside our commitment to your professional and personal development, we also offer a generous benefits package including:
- A competitive pension scheme
- Cycle-to-work scheme
- On-site parking
- Access to healthcare scheme
- Tax efficient childcare
- Up to 25 days annual leave per year
- Additional annual leave available
- Subsidised gym membership
- Generous Maternity/Paternity pay
We are and have consistently invested in providing our learners and employees with an outstanding and unrivalled range of modern facilities and resources.
Overseas candidates wishing to apply who would require sponsorship can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship for the post by assessing their circumstances against criteria specified on the Gov website. Please note right to work checks will be completed when the job is offered.
