The School of Science is a dynamic and growing department, having recently received a total remodelling of the classrooms and laboratory areas. It provides a range of outstanding courses from Level 2 to Level 6. The key focus in the curriculum area is to provide learners with the vocational skills required to complement their academic development, increasing their employability and potential for success in future study.

A unique opportunity exists for a motivated person to join our highly dedicated team of teachers in the specialist role of Personal Tutor. The successful applicant will support students from the point of application and for the duration of their time at College. They will work closely with an assigned caseload of students, their subject tutors, and managers alongside cross College services to enable students to achieve their full potential and prepare them for progression.

The ideal candidate will possess recent experience working within an FE setting as a personal tutor, or within an equivalent capacity, and have experience of working with young people and students with learning difficulties and /or disabilities and those who may present challenging behaviour. Qualified to Degree Level with a teaching qualification, the ability to work under your own initiative teamed with the desire to motivate and inspire young people are essential. Coaching skills and a good working knowledge of recording and information systems would be advantageous.
