Our Landbased curriculum is expanding! We are looking to add a new Lecturer in Equine to our well established team. This growing course provision combines a first class learning experience using our extensive practical facilities on the College estate with the expert knowledge of our staff team.

Main duties will include the teaching and training of students and other client groups to quality standards set by the college, tutoring and management of one or more courses or groups of students, along with development of our equine courses. However as a flexible team player the successful applicant will also be prepared to teach on other animal courses if required. Further requirements of this role would include participation in internal moderation, auditing and other quality monitoring processes to ensure learners, customers and clients receive exemplary service.

Our equestrian students make use of a range of fantastic practical resources as an important part of their course. These include a 60m x 40m indoor riding arena with spectator seating and judges area, stabling for up to 60 horses and two outdoor riding arenas. There is an on-site equine veterinary practice, and with its own equine hydrotherapy pool and water treadmill these complete an impressive array of facilities for use by students studying rehabilitation and therapy courses. Equestrian students also have the opportunity to join the Dressage Academy or Show Jumping Academy.

You will have a broad range of knowledge and practical experience in the Equine sector and possess an excellent knowledge base in Equine Health, Fitness, Yard Management and ideally Rehabilitation and Therapy. You will be experienced and confident working with young people of varying abilities to develop their competence. Ideally you would hold a degree level qualification in this field, however not mandatory if your industry level experience supersedes this.

The successful candidate must hold or be willing to work towards and achieve a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent and have a minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent).
