Sports Therapist

Gower College Swansea is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and motivated individual to the position of Academy Sports therapist on a casual, part-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the medical provision for the college academy squads including rugby, netball and football supporting games played on Wednesday afternoons and leading weekly clinics.

This is a very diverse role which will require exceptional organisational and communication skills working closely with the Performance Sport co-ordinator and lead coaches for the respective academies. Additionally, there is the potential to travel with Academy squads on tours in the UK and abroad. 

With a BSc degree in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy or equivalent and registration with the appropriate governing body (HPC and CSP), you will have experience of providing medical provision in a sport environment.  Ideally, the successful candidate will have current or previous experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment at U16-U19 age groups.

Strong administration skills and knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation are important.  This role requires flexibility and the ability to work outside normal office hours and in various locations.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English.  Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce.  We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to completing 6 months service).
