Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.  

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a modern building, with excellent on site facilities, such as a fully equipped gym, hair & beauty salons and fine dining restaurant.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Curriculum Area Manager for Construction. The department has grown significantly over the past two years and with this expansion comes the requirement for another management position.   

The successful post holder will have a passion for their curriculum area and up to date knowledge of Plastering / Carpentry and Joinery vocational areas. Your base will be in the construction centre at Brunel House off Leeds Road in Huddersfield. The main curriculum responsibilities will cover 16 – 18 programmes, adult, apprenticeships and community provision. You will lead, motivate, develop and manage the plastering and carpentry & joinery curriculum teams whilst improving standards and driving learners towards their aspirational destinations.

Having worked in a similar role or ready for your next step into Middle Management, you will bring a motivational, target driven approach and drive to build a dynamic and successful team and will be able to utilise staff resources and maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

To be considered for this role you must hold a relevant degree or higher national qualification, PGCE qualification or equivalent, Level 2 English and Maths and a level 3 vocational qualification within the building services sector. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
