Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.
We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services and Veterinary Nursing.
We also have a thriving University Centre at York offering a range of courses from Foundation degrees to Masters level.
We are currently recruiting experienced and passionate Learning Support Practitioners for our Saltaire and Wakefield sites to provide additional learning support and individual support for students who have high needs and SEND, enabling students to enjoy a fully inclusive college experience, to achieve and progress.
This role is fixed term until end of June 2022, working a total of 18.5 hours per week (0.5FTE), term time only which will be for 35 weeks of the year based on a start date of 6th September 2021.
We would expect applicants to have an understanding and experience of some of the following Special Educational Needs – Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social, emotional difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, dyspraxia and moderate to severe general learning difficulties.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
