Gower College Swansea is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individual to further develop its Employer Engagement team, enabling the College to diversify and grow its engagement with employers - delivering the skills that industry requires.

The role will see the post holder develop relationships with new and existing clients. The College has recently secured a contract with the Welsh Government to continue delivering apprenticeships in Wales over the coming years. Therefore, this is an exciting time for the region; the £1.3bn Swansea Bay City Deal project will also present significant opportunities for the business community in South West Wales. The College will need to play a vital role in helping employers to facilitate growth via the provision of up-to-date high-quality skills.

This key role will bring together expertise in customer relationship management with a strong commercial acumen; developing and implementing a focussed consultative strategy that both pre-empts and responds to client needs. The post holder will work extensively with GCS Training (the College’s commercial arm) to ensure that employers receive a first-class service whilst also achieving set College targets.

The Head of Employer Engagement will:-

Be a business development leader with experience of developing effective long-term stakeholder relationships in a target driven environment.

Become a skills ambassador for the region (and beyond); creating and utilising Labour Market Intelligence to produce tailored learning and development solutions that both pre-empt and respond to employers’ skills needs.

Lead the sales team, creating employer engagement strategies that utilise the full range of the College’s holistic portfolio (with a key focus on apprenticeships) in order to deliver effective results.

Promote, develop and diversify the College’s range of services to employers, ensuring the growth of repeat business and new client engagement via the delivery of sector leading training initiatives.

Liaise with College Managers to ensure acceleration in revenue growth across the College, enabling the achievement of individual and team income targets.

Provide excellent customer service to ensure the College maintains its reputation for high-quality employer services, and is positioned as the learning and development partner of choice.
